Aligning and Distributing Paths

To align filled objects manually, Smart Guides may show a great feature to help, just go View➜Show➜Smart Guides. But, unfortunately, Smart Guides has absolutely no affect on paths. If you need to align or distribute two or more path components on a single work path, you may have to do it automatically. To do so, just to follow these simple steps:
1. Click the work path in the Paths palette to activate the component paths.
2. Select the Path Selection tool and then marquee the component paths, or Shift-click them.
3. Select an alignment option from the options bar.

Note: The component paths will align automatically for you according to the selected option. To distribute, make sure that you have three or more component paths selected and then at step 3 select a distribution option from the options bar.
